Russian Time Kick F2 Championship Title Defence Off With Sprint Race Victory

Russian Time have opened their 2018 season with Sprint Race victory in Bahrain.

Artem Markelov started the race sixth on the grid and jumped forward to third by the first corner. He then put on a clinic, balancing tyre management with speed across the 23 lap race distance to leap-frog to the lead after competitors struggled with engine issues and tyre degradation.

Markelov took the win in convincing fashion by a shade over 2 seconds at the chequered flag.

Russian Time move on to the next race of the season at Baku, Azerbaijan second in the Teams Championship and Artem Markelov second in the Drivers Championship.
